The Used est un groupe provenant de Orem, Utah, aux États-Unis. Fin des années 90, ayant pour premier membre Branden Steineckert. Quinn Allman et Jepha se joignent à Branden, avec une succession de chanteurs différents. Ce n'est que peu avant janvier 2001 qu'ils rencontrent Bert McCracken, qu'ils avaient vu auparavant dans un autre groupe. Bert avait à l'époque aperçu une annonce que le groupe avait laissé, disant qu'ils cherchaient un chanteur. Il a aussitôt contacté le groupe et peu de temps après, il rejoint officiellement le groupe.
Le chanteur principal, Bert McCracken, a eu une vie peu heureuse avant sa carrière. Ses parents n'acceptaient pas qu'il refuse de suivre leur exemple : vivre selon le mode de vie mormon. Il se retrouve alors à la rue et sombre dans la drogue (la chanson Maybe Memories du premier album parle d'ailleurs de cette période). Mais il réussit à s'en sortir et fonde un groupe avec des amis rencontrés dans la rue, Quinn Allman (guitare), Jeph Howard (basse) et Branden Steineckert (batterie). À l'origine, Jeph Howard était le chanteur du groupe, mais Bert remplit maintenant cette fonction grâce à sa voix puissante. Le groupe combine des éléments de Rock, Emo, et connaît une popularité grandissante.

Panic at the Disco (parfois raccourci à PATD) est un groupe originaire de Las Vegas, Nevada. Anciennement appelés "Panic! at the Disco", ils ont changé de nom au début de l'année 2008. Leur musique mélange pop, électronique, dance, rock, et bien d'autres. Leur premier album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005) a rencontré quelques succès dans le Billboard 200. Il s'est vendu à environ 2,2 millions de copies. Actuellement, Brendon Urie est au chant principal et piano, Ryan Ross à la guitare et au chant, Spencer Smith ) la batterie et Jon Walker à la basse.

Sum 41 est un groupe de rock canadien formé à la fin des années 1990. Leur style est trempé dans le metal sur plusieurs de leurs chansons, notamment sur les albums "Chuck" et "Does This Look Infected?". Il est composé du chanteur et guitariste Deryck Whibley, alias Bizzy D, du bassiste Jason McCaslin alias Cone et du batteur Steve Jocz, alias Stevo 32. Le guitariste Dave Baksh, alias Brownsound ou Hot Chocolate, a quitté le groupe en mai 2006. Le nouveau guitariste qui remplace Dave Baksh et qui suit le groupe pour les lives se nomme Tom Thacker ; il est aussi chanteur et guitariste rythmique du groupe GOB. Le groupe est considéré par sa composition entre le metal et le punk, comme un des principaux fondateurs de ce mélange.
